Welcome to the Newtown Amateur Dramatic Society web site.
Here you will find information on future productions and activities at the theatre as well as a complete history of the Society from its creation in 1934 to the present day. Also you can find directions to the theatre and details of how to contact us. We also have a selection of photographs of past productions and events at the theatre. Click on the links above to navigate around the site.
The DVD is still in production! Apologises for the delay. 75 years of history is very difficult to condense into a suitable format, but hopefully it will be available before the end of the season.

Our Second Production of the 43rd Season
Find The Lady
"Find the Lady" is a comedy thriller by Michael Pertwee. Performance dates will be 13th-18th February. Unfortunately we were unable to cast the originally advertised play "You Can Only Die Twice" by society member Clive Bundy - our last performance was a large cast so some well deserved rest is needed!
Our First Production of the 2011/12 Season
Our first production was When We Are Married, a comedy by J B Priestly and was directed by Marjorie Meredith. Thank you to everyone who came to watch the performances; we hope you enjoyed it.
"THE STATE OF PLAY"
As we approach the first play of the 43rd season in the Powys Theatre it is worth noting the state of the Society Membership is healthy with several new young members joining the long standing ones. Frank Capener has returned to full health and will be appearing in "When We Are Married".
The fabric of the building continues to be maintained by voluntary work from several members, but a major refurbishment of parts of the roof are planned for early next Summer.
